This was a moving cleanout in Inspirada, Henderson. A family had just moved in from out of town. They unpacked, stacked the empty boxes in the garage, and kept going. A week later the garage was full.

If you have moved, you know the pile. Flattened cardboard. Packing paper in drifts. Styrofoam that breaks into little beads the second you touch it. A moving blanket nobody wants to keep. By the time they called us, it reached the garage door.

What do you do with all the boxes after a move?

Most people try bulk trash day first. That is the right instinct. It is already paid for in your trash bill, and for a normal load it works.

A whole house worth of moving boxes is a different animal. It is more than one pickup takes. Put it all at the curb and you can be left with most of the pile still sitting there, now in front of a brand new house on a brand new street.

You can also break the boxes down and drive them to a recycling center yourself. That is free. It is also several trips in a car that is not built for it.

They called us instead. We had a truck there the next day.

Moving cleanouts and garage cleanouts

The whole load went in one visit. Boxes, styrofoam, packing paper, and the trash mixed in with it. This is our most common moving cleanout, and it usually doubles as a garage cleanout, because the garage is where all of it ends up.

Then we broom swept the floor. An empty garage still covered in styrofoam beads and torn paper is not a finished job. That part is included. You should not have to ask for it.

Where the cardboard went

Not the landfill. This load was almost all clean corrugated cardboard, so it went to a recycling center. Ask any hauler where your stuff ends up. A real one will tell you without pausing.

New build, new neighborhood

Inspirada is mostly newer construction, and a lot of the people here are like this family: they moved to Henderson from somewhere else. That means a steady supply of garages buried in packing material, usually in the first month.

It also means tight new driveways and HOA streets. We park where we are supposed to park and we do not leave a mess behind on the road.

What was left

Look at the after photo. What is against the wall is what they actually wanted to keep, where they can reach it. Everything else is gone and the floor is swept.
